Gwinnett County police have identified a teenager that was killed late Sunday near the intersection of Lakeview Road and Graystone Parkway.
Police said Brittany "Angel" Sailors, 16, from Grayson died in the accident and three other people were injured.
Police told CBS Atlanta News that Sailors was stopped at the stop sign on Graystone Parkway at Lakeview Road and was intending to turn left onto Lakeview Road.
Mutahaj Claude Paasewe was driving westbound on Lakeview Road and slammed into her gold 2000 Mitsubishi Diamante.
Sailors' passenger, 16-year-old Lacey Gowens of Lawrenceville, was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.
Paasewe was charged with a DUI, but will not be held responsible for the accident, according to police.
Both Paasewe and his passenger, 19-year-old Dario Abreu of Norcross, were taken to Gwinnett Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.
Friends built a memorial near where the accident happened, and remembered the Grayson High School student.
"She
was loved by everybody, special girl. Always smiling, always happy.
Always trying to make people laugh. She was somebody special," said
friend Kiley Cash.
Police are continuing to investigate.
