Fatal accident partially shuts down I-285 in DeKalb County

DEKALB COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Police have shut down two lanes on northbound Interstate 285 following a fatal accident near Glenwood Road.

The accident initially shut down all of the northbound lanes of I-285, according to DeKalb County police.

Police said a SUV was headed north when the female driver lost control and drove off the highway, hitting a tree.

The male passenger in the SUV was killed in the accident.

Police were trying to find out what caused the driver to drive off the highway.
