ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
On Thursday, police officers responded to a shooting on Ashley at West End Apartment Homes on Lee Street.
Eric Curry told police he was standing in the parking lot at 717 Lee St. SW, and the next thing he knew, he was shot in the thigh.
Two witnesses at the scene told police they heard a gunshot and saw a man run to the bushes, kick something under them and drove off in what they described as a burgundy newer model Monte Carlo with 22-inch chrome rims.
Police determined the item kicked under the bushes was a black Kimber pistol.
Curry was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.
Police are searching for the suspect.
