The Cherokee County Fire Department said a 25-year-old man was injured while trying to escape a house fire overnight.
The fire happened at a home in the 900 block of Victoria Landing around 1 a.m.
Neighbors told firefighters they heard an explosion before the fire, which appeared to have started in the back of the house.
One neighbor, Ryan Burt, told firefighters he saw a man trying to escape through a window above the garage. Burt got his ladder and ran to the home to help the man get out of the home.
CBS Atlanta was told the victim was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation and injuries to one of his legs.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
