(RNN) – A video posted on YouTube is enough to give any homeowner a heart attack – a bear cub gets stuck in the garage door mechanism and its giant mom charges to the rescue in a big way.

As the dumbstruck video shooter lets the iPhone roll, the adventurous little bear got tangled up in the mechanism and cried out in distress. Mother slammed open the door and held it over her head, all the while calling to her baby who inched his way to a nearby ladder and safety, while a dog barked furiously in the background.

The description of the video, uploaded by "Ellimaeejmc," does not say where it was taken.

Some commenters charge that the video is faked or staged because of the shakiness of the video. The poster of the video - elliemaeejmc, begged to differ:

FYI the camera movement is because I as just a little nervous with mama bear only about 10 feet away from me. I'm rather curious as to how people think this could be fake. Do you think I have trained bears that I'm directing? Get a life!

Real or phony, it's worth checking out.

Bears gone wild

In other viral bear news - a resident of a suburban neighborhood in Longwood, FL, caught a fight between two very large and visibly upset black bears. Bears are not an uncommon sight in this part of Florida, residents say, but seeing two going toe-to-toe is a bit out of the ordinary.

WHNS in Greenville, SC, reported that some kids selling lemonade in their front yard in Powdersville, SC, got an unexpected customer when thirsty baby bear showed up. That's the same neighborhood where a week or two ago residents spotted what they thought was a black panther - it turned out to be a really big coyote. This was definitely a bear, because they got pictures.

Earlier this month in nearby Pickensville, SC, a bear took a nap in a downtown tree.

Farther north, a bear napping in a tree in Bristol, CT, caused a stir. Officials zapped him with a tranquilizer gun. He dozed off, plunked out of the tree and was relocated.
