City officials want to remind residents to take MARTA this Fourth of July holiday.
MARTA will have service available from 4:45 a.m. to 1 a.m. to accommodate the Peachtree Road Race, Braves game, fireworks displays and other celebratory events.
Customers should purchase a round-trip fare at the beginning of their trip to avoid long lines on the return, according to MARTA.
Peachtree Road Race participants are encouraged to take the Gold Line train to Lenox for the start of the race.
MARTA will be operating extra trains to Lenox to get runners quickly to the starting line.
Shuttle buses will also be available at Lindbergh Center Station before the race to transport runners close to the starting line and at Midtown station after the race to bring participants back to Lindbergh Center Station.
Some bus routes will be re-routed for the Peachtree Road Race and other scheduled events.
Visit www.itsmarta.com or call Customer Information at 404-848-5000 for more details on MARTA's holiday service.
