GWINNETT COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Police in Gwinnett County have charged a man whom they say tried to kidnap a woman from a Barnes and Noble in Peachtree Corners.

The attempted kidnapping happened at the store on Peachtree Parkway on June 17.

Police said that a 20-year-old woman was browsing in the store when a man grabbed her arm and told her, "You're the one, come with me."

The man then tried to drag the woman from the store but she started yelling for help and someone was able to push the man away from the woman.

The suspect drove off from the store in a silver BMW.

Police said that on June 19, the suspect was spotted in two other locations in Gwinnett County. In the first instance, he reportedly made sexual comments to a woman. In the second instance, he approached a woman walking to her car with her children. She brushed him off and made it safely to her car with her kids, but later saw the man performing a sexual act in his car.

As police began to investigate, they learned the silver BMW was registered to Maximo Chavez, which was actually an alias for the suspect, 37-year-old Kennedy Miranda.

Miranda was arrested by Dunwoody police on June 19 at Perimeter Mall and was charged with disorderly conduct and giving police a fake name.

Gwinnett County police then charged Miranda with attempted kidnapping, simple battery and public indecency.
