Dog owner forced to shoot attacking dog in DeKalb County

DEKALB COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

A dog owner in DeKalb County was forced to shoot a dog attacking their dog on Friday.

It happened on Swallow Lane, just off Covington Highway.

According to police, a pit bull got away from his owner and began attacking the dog.

The owner of the dog being attacked shot the pit bull in the head.

The dog was taken to the vet. The dog's condition is unknown.

Police have not said if any charges will be filed.

The pit bull was on a leash.
