ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Twelve educators accused in the 2009 CRCT cheating scandal have been cleared of any wrongdoing, according to a district spokesman.
Keith Bromery confirmed to CBS Atlanta News that the educators were cleared because there wasn't enough evidence to prove they cheated or that they knew that cheating had occurred.
That means the 12 educators will be able to return to school in the fall.
A total of 180 educators were implicated in the cheating scandal. The accusations ranged from erasing students' incorrect answers, to encouraging teachers to cheat, to prompting students to change incorrect answers during tests.
Dozens of educators have already resigned or have been fired because of the investigation.
