CBS Atlanta News crew assaulted while asking Tough Questions

DEKALB COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

CBS Atlanta reporter Adam Murphy and photographer Dexter Andrews questioned a DeKalb County business Thursday about a potential health hazard associated with storing restaurant grease on their property.

The business, called Best Dog Food, is located at 2460 S. Stone Mountain Lithonia Rd.

Upon arriving at the business, Murphy and Andrews noticed a truck hooking up to a pipe on the outside of the building to unload grease. There was also cooking oil all over the ground.

So Murphy and Andrews approached the business to ask employees about it. That's when a woman forcefully shoved the news camera out of Andrews' hands and onto the ground.  Another woman tried to grab the microphone out of Murphy's hand.

DeKalb County police were called out to the business and determined that both women would face simple assault charges for their actions.

CBS Atlanta News also spoke with the Environmental Protection Division while at the business.  An inspector told CBS Atlanta News that the business was told to clean up the grease on the ground about a month ago before it seeped into the water table.

The inspector also said there are still violations present and he planed to cite the business.
