The Red Cross has been called to assist three adults and three children who were displaced when their home caught fire early Wednesday.
Gwinnett County Fire Lieutenant Colin Rhoden said the family discovered the fire at the home on Blackberry Lane in the Auburn area at around 3:30 a.m. and escaped through a back door.
Crews found flames through the roof of the building on arrival, and knocked down the fire quickly. The home was moderately damaged by water and fire.
Rhoden said the residents were members of the same family, but their relationship was unclear.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, but is not believed to be suspicious.
