DEKALB COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
CBS Atlanta News is looking at DeKalb County school's preliminary Criterion-Referenced Competency Test results from this year.
The district said they are seeing some promising trends across all grade levels.
Overall, students consistently performed better on this year's test when compared to last year.
However, there was a note of concern when it came to fifth grader's math and science scores.
Both were down when compared to 2011.
There isn't as much pressure to perform well on the CRCT.
Georgia received a waiver to opt out of "No Child Left Behind."
Instead, Georgia will outline its own standards to measure what students are learning.
