COBB COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
A Smyrna mother remains in the Cobb County jail after her young daughter was found dead Friday afternoon.
Cobb County Police said they found the body of Ebony Berry's daughter inside a home on Concord Road. The child was severely malnourished and neglected, according to police.
The name or age of the victim was not released.
Police said there were other juvenile children in the house, but they were in good condition and released into the custody of Department of Family and Children Services.
Ebony Berry was arrested and charged with murder and first degree cruelty to children.
Neighbors tell CBS Atlanta the children would frequently run away.
