SPALDING COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Four clerks were arrested after the Spalding County Sheriff's Office conducted a six-week compliance inspection of businesses with video game machines.
During the investigation, five businesses were found to be in violation of Georgia commercial gambling laws by paying cash for credits earned on the game machines.
On Wednesday, deputies executed five search warrants at the following businesses:
- 2903 N. Expressway, Expressway Food Mart
- 678 N. Expressway, Super Speedway
- 401 W. Taylor Street, 10th and Taylor BP Station
- 436 N. Expressway, Q and Q Brothers BP Station
- 2295 N. Expressway, Sunoco Food Mart

Four clerks were arrested and charged with commercial gambling. They are:

The arrest of the clerk at Sunoco Food Mart is pending.
Super Foods was found to be in violation of commercial gambling, but deputies said prior to the search investigators learned that the business had removed all the game machines.
According to investigators, the clerk that committed the violation may possibly be arrested.
Under Georgia State Law, it is not illegal for businesses to have the game machines in operation, but it is illegal to pay out cash, tobacco products, alcohol or lottery tickets.
