DEKALB COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

DeKalb County firefighters battled an early morning house fire Friday.

The flames started around 4 a.m. in the Rockborough subdivision on Rockborough Terrace. When firefighters arrived, nearly half of the home was in flames.

One woman was home, but she safely escaped uninjured. For a few tense moments, her neighbors thought she might be trapped inside.

"It was real scary because I was worried, because I didn't know if any of my neighbors got killed or something like that. That scared me," said Tiffany Patterson.

Investigators said it appeared the fire started in the kitchen.
