Body of soldier killed in Afghanistan returns home

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

The body of a staff sergeant from Dawsonville, killed in Afghanistan, is home.

Staff Sgt. Alexander G. Povilaitis was killed May 31.

Povilaitis served two tours in Iraq before deploying to Afghanistan.

A plane carrying the staff sergeant's body arrived Thursday morning at DeKalb Peachtree Airport.

A memorial service will be held Saturday.
