ROSWELL, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Planned changes to Georgia 400 that were supposed to happen Thursday morning have been delayed.
The Georgia Department of Transportation said the rain pushed back their plans to convert a merge lane into a regular lane, between McFarland Parkway in south Forsyth and Holcomb Bridge Road in Roswell.
The nine-mile stretch from McFarland down to Holcomb Bridge currently has three through-traffic lanes and a fourth lane that requires drivers to exit at each bypass.
Crews will re-stripe nine miles so that there will be four continuous lanes, eliminating the exit-only lane.
It is unclear when the work will begin.
