CONYERS, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Police are on the hunt for two armed robbers who terrorized restaurant employees and made off with several hundred dollars cash.
The robbers were fast - in and out of the restaurant in less than 30 seconds - but their quick crime was caught on surveillance camera.
It happened last Friday at 10:15 p.m. at the Subway restaurant on Sigman Road in Conyers. Courtney Fry was working at the restaurant when the crime happened.
"At first I thought it was just a joke," Fry said. "I thought maybe he was just trying to make a fashion statement."
But then the young men, wearing all black clothing with their faces partially covered, started waving guns and demanding money.
"I saw the gun, and my heart, it just stopped for a minute," said Fry. "That's when I realized what was going on. He jumped over the counter and said, 'You know what time it is,'" Fry said.
Conyers police Lt. Jack Dunn said one of the robbers made a crucial mistake, however. At one point during the robbery, he pulled back his hoodie and showed his face as a camera captured his image.
"By tomorrow I'm going to know who he is," said Dunn. He hopes someone recognizes the young man and helps police get both of the dangerous suspects off the streets.
"One of the suspects has his finger on the trigger," Dunn said. "He's careless, the way he's handling that gun. That gun could have (gone) off easily."
The whole robbery took less than 30 seconds. The crooks walked out the back door and ran down Sigman Road.
"That's when I just lost it. I started crying," Fry said. She hopes someone will turn in the robbers.
"I've never had a gun pointed at me like that before," said Fry.
