ROSWELL, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Two Roswell officers escaped serious injury when a fleeing suspect swiped both of them with his car.

Lt. James McGee said the officers had responded to a domestic call at the Jefferson at Champions Parkway Apartments on Preakness Drive just after midnight Wednesday.

A juvenile at the home told police that his mother's boyfriend would not leave. When officers got to the home, the boyfriend, 32-year-old Keon Ryan Patterson of Hiuxon, TN, was not there.

Officers were talking to the woman inside the home when Patterson returned to the scene.

Officers told Patterson to turn off his vehicle. Police said he did, but a short time later he started the vehicle and drove forward striking one of the officers, putting him on the hood of the vehicle.

According to police, Patterson then put the vehicle in reverse striking the second officer by running over his foot.

McGee said Patterson was pulled over and taken into custody without incident at a nearby Waffle House on Holcomb Bridge Road.

Patterson will be charged with obstruction, aggravated assault on a police officer, possession of a firearm, driving while suspended, and fleeing.

Both officers were treated for minor injuries on the scene.
