ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
The doors were locked before the close of business Tuesday at the Georgia Department of Revenue Motor Vehicle Division on Tradeport Boulevard in Hapeville.
Motorists were being turned away by a security guard who said the office closed due to a system failure.
Several commercial drivers said the closure is costing them money.
Prince Woodbury was hoping to file the paperwork to transfer a cab registration for his commercial vehicle in order to start a new job.
"There's nothing I can do. I'm just losing money. It looks like I won't be able to start work tomorrow either," said Woodbury.
Woodbury said he waited for more than two hours Tuesday morning to see if the computers would come back up before leaving.
He returned about 4 p.m. hoping the problem would be fixed, but the doors were still locked.
A worker in the office verified the computers were down. She said she did not know if customers could go to the Century Center location because she wasn't sure if their system was down as well.
The Hapeville office services both private and commercial drivers.
