ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Nearly two weeks after thieves broke into his car, a Home Park man who only wants to be identified as "Charlie," still can't believe what was caught on his home surveillance cameras.
"In the video you can see the perpetrator's car. Then you see them break the glass. I am very upset that it happened to me," said Charlie.
When CBS Atlanta News spoke to Charlie, he said he didn't want to use his real name because the crooks are still out there.
"I believe they were in separate cars. The video shows their car backing up and leaving," Charlie said.
Charlie says it happened on his wife's birthday, while the couple was at the hospital following the birth of their first child.
"Everything was supposed to be great on Sunday morning. I was knocked off my high horse pretty quickly and brought back to the reality of the world," said Charlie. "One car took a leather briefcase with various documents and electronics in it. The other bag was my computer bag with an iPad, an iTouch and various other electronic items," Charlie said.
Charlie told CBS Atlanta News that he should have taken his valuables out of the car, but things got hectic.
"The problem was, my memory was shot because of the three days of staying awake with the newborn," Charlie said. "I should have taken the things out. I forgot."
Surveillance cameras recorded the face of one of the thieves. Charlie said he wants the crooks to be caught.
"I would like to give a reward of $3,000 that would help catch these criminals," Charlie said.
