BUFORD, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Former U.S. Sgt. Daniel Lister will be recognized at a welcome home ceremony at his new Buford property that Bank of America has donated to him.

Lister participated in operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.

He suffered injuries to leg and arm when stepping on an IED during combat.

Sgt. Curtis Oakes (K.I.A.) will also be recognized Tuesday in a separate event.

He served the U.S. Army as a Forward Observer from 2003-2010, and participated in operations in Korea, Iraq and Afghanistan.

On November 29, 2010, while in Afghanistan, Oakes was killed along with five other soldiers by a rogue Afghan Police officer, during a training mission.

His widow, Brandy Oakes, will be present for the event and a tour of the home that Bank of America donated to the war hero's family.

The homes were donated through a partnership with the Military Warriors Support Foundation.
