NORCROSS, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
A team with the organization Bike & Build is passing through the Atlanta area Tuesday.
Bike & Build puts together teams to take cross-country bicycle trips, while stopping along the way to build affordable housing.
According to the organization's website, riders and donors for Bike & Build have raised more than $3,380,000 for the housing projects over the last nine seasons.
One of the teams, which started out in South Carolina and will end its journey in California, spent Tuesday pedaling from Athens and raising awareness in Norcross.
The team's next stop for a "build day" will be in Tupelo, MS, after passing through Rome, GA, and Alabama.
