Episcopal priest makes history

ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

The first African-American priest of the Episcopal Church in Georgia made history again.

Reverend Robert Wright, 48, was elected as the 10th bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta. He is currently the rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Atlanta.

Wright was elected by delegates and clergy representing 96 parishes. He will be ordained in October at the Cathedral of the St. Philip in Atlanta.

Wright replaces Bishop J. Neil Alexander who is leaving his position in October to become a professor At Emory University.
