COBB COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Police are investigating a crash that killed one person and sent two others to the hospital late Monday night.
Cobb County police said the crash near the intersection of Bells Ferry Road and Piedmont Road involved two vehicles.
According to Cobb County police, a 2006 Kia Sorento was traveling eastbound on Barrett Parkway as it approached the intersection of Bells Ferry Road. A 1990 Mazda Miata was westbound on Piedmont Road as it approached the intersection with Bells Ferry Road.
As the Kia was crossing Bells Ferry Road, the driver of the Mazda, 19-year-old Gabriel Hidalgo of Woodstock, made a u-turn on Piedmont Road.
As Hidalgo was turning, the driver of the Kia, 26-year-old Michael Williams of Marietta, hit the Mazda, killing the passenger, 17-year-old Laquan Hilton of Acworth.
Hilton was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hidalgo and Williams were taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital where they were both listed in stable condition.
