DEKALB COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

On Monday students and teachers at Clarkston High School and Sequoyah Middle School will open boxes of musical instruments valued at more than $100,000.

The instruments were a donation through the support of the Abraham J. & Phyllis Katz Foundation and the efforts of The Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation.

School officials hope this donation will increase participation in the band program, and keep students actively engaged in school and in the arts.
