ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

CBS Atlanta News was honored with a new reporter from the Make-A-Wish Foundation program Thursday and Friday.

While Oliver's wish was to be a reporter for a day, CBS Atlanta News decided to give him two chances to show Metro Atlanta his stuff - and he did!

On Thursday, the 16-year-old worked with Harry Samler on Pothole Patrol.

On Friday, Oliver forecasted the weather with Meteorologist Jennifer Valdez on Better Mornings Atlanta during the 9 a.m. show, impressing Jennifer's fellow anchors with his weather vocabulary.

Former Atlanta Falcons' linebacker Coy Wire even stopped by the studio on Friday to see Oliver.

Friday afternoon, Oliver conducted two live interviews during the 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. newscasts.  First, he interviewed Atlanta Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez.  Second, he interviewed Braves announcer Ship Carey.  Both interviews took place at Turner Field.

Oliver was diagnosed with germinoma, a specific type of germ-cell based tumor. He's been battling cancer for two years and has undergone several brain surgeries.
