Main hangar at Falcon Field
Skylight where Austin Bailey fell
PEACHTREE CITY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
A 13-year-old boy died Friday afternoon after he fell through a skylight in the roof of a hangar at Peachtree City-Falcon Field Airport.
It happened just after 12:30 p.m. at the airport's main hangar, which was being re-roofed by a company out of Villa Rica.
According to a spokesman with Peachtree City Police Department, the victim, Austin Bailey, had been on the roof and stepped onto the skylight which gave way, causing him to fall 25 feet to the ground below.
Bailey was taken to Piedmont-Fayette Hospital where he died from his injuries.
OSHA inspectors plan to head out to the hangar early next week to investigate the work site.
