A store clerk was hospitalized after he was attacked by a robber Saturday morning in Marietta.
The attempted robbery happened around 10:03 a.m. at The Hock Shop pawn shop on Cobb Parkway North, according to Marietta police.
The clerk was apparently opening the shop for the day when he was attacked. When officers arrived, they found the employee stabbed several times. He was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. His injuries were considered life-threatening and he underwent surgery.
The suspect left behind two pieces of evidence according to Marietta police. They are a woman's style wig of long hair and a knit cap. Investigators say the items were knocked from the attacker's head during the struggle with the employee.
The suspect is described as wearing a dark-blue sweatshirt with a hood and blue jeans. Police believe the would-be robber was injured in the attack.
