ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Dozens of people celebrated Tea Party Day at the Georgia State Capitol Wednesday.
Georgia lawmakers spoke with representatives from various Tea Party groups from across the state.
Organizers told CBS Atlanta News they are working to get more people involved in the movement.
"We've got to get more people off the apathetic couch and get them involved in this country and what's necessary, because the freedom that we enjoy today - if we don't grow it and don't win in November - we probably will not enjoy it next year," said an organizer.
Wednesday was Georgia's first ever Tea Party Day at the Capitol, but it's expected to become an annual event.
