Hangar collapses at Paulding Northwest Atlanta Airport

PAULDING COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

A hangar under construction at the Paulding Northwest Atlanta Airport collapsed Wednesday, injuring two construction workers.

Both were taken to Wellstar Paulding Hospital, and one of the two injured is in critical condition. A co-worker said both were listed in stable condition Wednesday evening.

It is unclear what caused the hanger to collapse. Construction workers said it was very windy when the steel collapsed.

Workers started erecting steel to the building Monday. The roof had not been installed yet, but one to two beams had been put across the structure.

Roughly 12 workers were around the structure when it fell. OSHA is now investigating.
