ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
According to Dutch scientist Mark Post, The world's first "test-tube" meat will be produced this fall.
Post made this statement at major science conference on Sunday.
Post said his project is funded with 250,000 euros from an anonymous private investor motivated by "care for the environment, food for the world, and interest in life-transforming technologies."
According to an article by New York Daily News, Post said the ultimate goal is to mass produce the lab meat in order to cut back on cattle slaughtering and the global warming effects produced by livestock farming.
