ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
It might seem too early to be talking about baseball but believe it or not we're right around the corner from Spring Training.
The Atlanta Braves return to the Walt Disney World® Resort in Orlando for their 15th consecutive year. Their first game is set for March 3 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
Many fans use that 18-game Spring Training schedule for a chance to get up close for practices and games, while getting in a little vacation in Florida. In fact, travel enthusiast and Delta Vacations spokesperson, Alison Buckneberg says they expect more than 1 million baseball fans to visit Florida for Spring Training.
If this sounds like the perfect excuse you were waiting for to escape the daily grind and head for a sunnier climate, Buckneberg says there are some great deals to be had.
"Delta vacations is offering up to $200 in saving on Spring Training vacations to Walt Disney World which is especially a great deal if you're going to be coming down here to the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex to watch the Atlanta Braves," says Buckneberg.
But she says travelers should be looking for more than low prices. "Travelers should be looking for ways to bundle their vacations together. Bundling their air, hotel, rental car, tours and activities, even their theme park tickets into one booking can save them not only time but also money," says Buckneberg.
And when the Braves aren't practicing or playing, there are more than 50 major attractions to choose from in and around Orlando, including theme parks, outlet malls, premiere golf courses and beaches.
But Buckneberg advises it's a good idea to book now in order to get the best availability.
CBS Atlanta is sending a crew to the Braves Spring Training. You can get your first look at the 2012 Braves on CBS Atlanta Sportsline. It airs Saturdays at 7pm.
