FULTON COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Police are working to confirm the identity of a man struck and killed on Camp Creek Parkway near Fulton Industrial Boulevard early Monday.
A tractor trailer driver reported striking a body in the roadway at around 1:45 a.m., police said.
Corporal Kay Lester said a 24-year-old man was struck several times as he was crossing the four-lane Camp Creek Parkway about 3- or 4-hundred yards from the intersection. The victim's name was not immediately released.
Lester said the victim was struck by a van, SUV and pickup truck in addition to the tractor trailer.
The tractor trailer driver and other vehicles remained on the scene and spoke with investigators. Lester said the incident is not considered a hit-and-run case.
Damon Jackson is a truck driver who uses Camp Creek Parkway frequently. He said it's a curvy road that can be dangerous for pedestrians.
"It's busy highway at night," said Jackson. "It's an unlit highway, and you're not expecting to see a pedestrian out there."
