Former Morrow Police Chief sentenced for DUI charge

CLAYTON COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Former Morrow Police Chief Jeff Baker pleaded guilty in court Wednesday morning to DUI and violating a traffic control device.

A month after his arrest for driving under the influence, Morrow Police Chief Jeffery Baker resigned in December 2011.

Baker served as Morrow's police chief for nearly six years and has almost 20 years law enforcement experience.

Baker was arrested on seven different charges including DUI, running a red light, open container violation and obedience to authorized persons directing traffic.

The judge sentenced Baker to one year probation, 150 hours of community service and a $600 fine.
