New breed of lifestyle magazine for the digital age launches in Atlanta

ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

The digital age we live in is forcing industries across the board to change the way they do business. And no one is faced with the need to adapt more than people in the magazine world.

One local young professional has taken her background at magazines such as JEZEBEL, Atlanta Sports & Fitness and freelancing for O: The Oprah Magazine (among others) to forge a path that meets the new wants and needs of consumers.

Tova Gelfond is Editor in Chief of Eidé Magazine - what she describes as a national lifestyle "neosource" magazine. The trailblazing publication she and her team have come up with is a happy marriage between what you love about flipping through a glossy magazine, with the accessibility of logging onto a web site from anywhere in the world.

"We are a publication that is designed with the expensive typography, modern design and beautiful photography of a print magazine, but produced in the format of an online newspaper, so it's easy to navigate, with the beauty of, say, Vanity Fair," says Gelfond.

And as a self-proclaimed specialist in lifestyle and culture, Eidé Magazine decided to declare "Eidé-setters", or in other words 12 people to watch in 2012.

The category includes people challenging Atlanta's music, food, fashion and media industries.

Take for example child prodigy DJ Kidd Koby Roc who amped up the crowd at the Eidé-setters celebration at Whiskey Park in Midtown, or Robyn Marzullo and Cara Workman. Their names might not be familiar, but their business is certainly making a bang with women in the metro area. They're the owners of the female-friendly Sandy Springs Gun Club & Range.

Frank Ski is a name that's more familiar. He's been on the Atlanta scene for some time as a morning radio show personality and philanthropist. But his Eidé-setter status comes from his new venture - as resident foodie and owner of Frank Ski's Restaurant & Lounge.

These are just a few of the people Eidé Magazine chose to define their mission. Gelfond explains "Our focus is the essence of culture - the people who make it, the people who follow it, and where it is going next."
