ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
A man was found dead inside a southeast Atlanta apartment building early Wednesday.
Firefighters responded to the Memorial Heights Apartments on Memorial Drive at around 4:30 a.m. and found heavy smoke coming from the building.
Firefighters believe the fire was started by a hot plate that caught fire, igniting nearby furniture.
The 89-year-old man was found unresponsive in the home. His cause of death appears to be natural causes at this time, according to fire crews.
There were no other injuries reported and the fire is under investigation.
