Clayton County police arrest A/C thieves

ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Clayton County police arrested two men after they admitted to removing metal from air conditioning units.

On January 27, officers responded to Chase Ridge Dr. in Riverdale in response to a theft in progress.

Police said Montavious Darded, 21, Andres Coleman, 25, admitted to stealing the metal so they could recycle it to make money.

Officers also discovered approximately 15 other units had been vandalized.

Both men were charged with theft by taking, possession of tools during the commission of a crime, and loitering and prowling.
