2 girls recovering after fire in Lamar Co.

LAMAR COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Two little girls are recovering at the hospital after a Sunday morning fire in Lamar County.

The fire broke out just after 7:00 a.m. at 1927 Hwy. 36 East.

Firefighters arrived on scene to find multiple occupants scattered through the yard watching the blaze.

One girl was being removed out a back bedroom window, and a second girl was found and removed out of a front window.

The girls were treated on the scene, but one was flown to Egleston Children's Hospital and the other was taken to Spalding Regional Hospital.

Eight other people were treated for smoke inhalation in area hospitals.

The girls are listed in critical condition, according to reports.
