Firefighters busy this weekend

DEKALB COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

DeKalb County firefighters were busy Sunday morning with five fires.

Firefighters fought a fire at Haverly Place Apartments on Summit Creek Drive in Stone Mountain. Crews said the fire started at around 4 a.m. A witness said she woke up to neighbors yelling, "Fire," and when she looked outside there were flames coming from one building. Firefighters said the fire made ten apartments unlivable.

Firefighters were also called to an apartment complex on Meadow Glen Village Lane in Tucker. A witness said she woke up to a big bang and flames at her front door. Firefighters had to rescue her and her 6-year-old grandson from the balcony. The fire displaced 20 people.
