BUFORD, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Nia Kenney wants her daughter Anisia Williams back. The 16-year-old has been missing for a month. Saturday, Williams' family and friends spent the day holding up signs and handing out missing person flyers at the Mall of Georgia. Family members said that was last the place she was seen.
"My husband and my mother dropped my daughter off at the Mall of Georgia to see a movie with her girlfriends. Her friends from school. She later called and said she wanted to eat after the movie, which my husband gave her permission to do. When we went to pick her up, Anisia wasn't there," said Kenney.
Williams' parents say she never ran away before and has good relationship with them. They said someone has abducted her, and is keeping the teen her from coming home.
"We kept calling this number because of the listing on our phone records and the guy that would answer the phone kept telling us she was not with him. He was lying because within minutes of hanging up, my daughter would text somebody," said Anthony Williams.
"It's been terrible. I don't know where my daughter is. I have no idea where she may have gone or who may have taken her," said Williams.
Gwinnett County Police said its investigating the case as a runaway, but Williams' parents aren't convinced.
"You can't tell me that you are just going to put her up as just a runaway. No you are not going to just tell me this. You are going to tell me there is no foul play? How do you know? "said Williams.
