25-year-old dies in hospital after Cherokee County car accident

CHEROKEE COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Officials say a 25-year-old man died at Kennestone Hospital Friday afternoon after he was seriously injured in a car accident on Trickum Road.

Police say William Kyle Edson ran off the highway, went into the woods and struck several trees.

Firefighters found the Edson trapped in the car and had to rescue him.

He suffered severe head injuries, according to paramedics.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident and there were no other reported injuries.

The Cherokee Sheriff's Office will continue to investigate the cause of the accident.
