DEKALB COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
A suspect charged with aggravated assault caused a two hour stand-off with DeKalb County Sheriff's deputies Friday morning by barricading himself in a relative's home in Decatur.
Fugitive Squad members responded to Duncan Rd. around 8 a.m. after receiving a tip about Monte Carter, 31.
According to police, Carter refused to leave the home. After trying to get Carter to come out of the home, the SWAT Team and special negotiators were called in.
The SWAT Team was able to get Carter on the phone and talk him out of the house within about 20 minutes. No one was hurt.
Carter was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, reckless conduct, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and criminal damage to property. He was taken to the DeKalb County jail.
Police were searching for Carter after they said he shot into a crowd of seven people on last September, shattering a car window and hitting one person in the leg.
