Hannibal Wayne McMullen
COVINGTON, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
A suspect wanted in connection to a fatal shooting in Covington has surrendered to police. Hannibal Wayne McMullen, 47, turned himself in Saturday afternoon around 5 p.m. according to Covington Police Captain Ken Malcom.
Investigators named McMullen a suspect after a woman was killed when the truck she was driving slammed into an awning at the Pure gas station on Washington Street on Friday morning.
A police spokesperson told CBS Atlanta that McMullen was in his vehicle when he allegedly started firing shots at Ketitra Teschelle Jones, 26, as she drove her Dodge Ram truck. Jones died from the gunshot wounds according to police.
Authorities also say McMullen and the victim were once in a relationship and had gotten into an argument earlier in the day.
