Clayton County police arrest five in drug seizure

CLAYTON COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Clayton County police arrested five people on various felony drug and weapons charges on Thursday.

Police arrested Carlos Nadal, 64, Sandra Nadal, 60, Terrel Pierce, 36, all of Riverdale and Juan Chatman, 32, and Chara Betters, 30, of Atlanta.

Around 4:45 p.m., the Clayton County Police Department Narcotics Unit went to a home on Quail Hunt Drive in Riverdale after obtaining information from the Fairburn Police Department.

Police said a large quantity of marijuana was purchased from the home and a large quantity was still there.

Detectives said they detected a strong odor of marijuana and obtained a search warrant.

Officers found four pounds of marijuana which they valued at $10,000, an AK-47 assault rifle, a 380 semi auto handgun and $7,610 in cash.
