GWINNETT COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
A Gwinnett County sheriff's deputy was arrested Wednesday after investigators said he sexually assaulted an inmate at the Gwinnett County Jail.
According to a spokesman with the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office, Deputy Duone Clark was taken into custody around 11 p.m. and charged with violation of oath by a public officer and sexual assault.
Investigators said they received a tip that Clark was engaging in sexual activity with in inmate at the jail.
While he was being investigated, Clark was put on administrative leave. Investigators said they were able to get enough evidence and information from witnesses to get a warrant for Clark's arrest.
Once arrested, Clark resigned from his position with the Sheriff's Office.
A judge did not grant Clark bond.
