Douglas County inmate bites another inmate's finger

DOUGLAS COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

A Douglas County inmate bit another inmate's finger so severely he needed hospitalization, the sheriff's office said.

Adam Wesley Ragland, 24, was charged with aggravated battery after the altercation.

Authorities said the victim had to undergo surgery on his hand, but is doing fine.

Ragland was placed in disciplinary segregation at the jail.
