JACKSON COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
The Jackson County Sheriff's Office is investigating an assault that occurred in a rural area off U.S. 129.
On February 5, a woman was pulled over in the area of B. Whitfield Road and Holiday Cemetery Road by what she believed to be police officer.
The woman told investigators she was assaulted by the man during the traffic stop.
The man was driving a Crown Victoria with a light bar on the roof.
The victim stated that a red truck drove by the traffic stop very slowly that night, and may have witnessed the incident.
Law enforcement officials are seeking witnesses that may have been pulled over by the man.
