NEWTON COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Newton County Sheriff's Deputies spent Wednesday morning looking for clues connected to the death of 66-year-old Peggy Molden and her 56-year-old nephew Donald McCollough.

"We have done a third sweep of the neighborhood; they went back around the house and then a more detailed search of the outside perimeter around it," said Lt. Keith Crumb with the Newton County Sheriff's Office.

Modlen and McCollough were found shot to death Tuesday morning. Investigators said at this point investigators have not identified a suspect or nailed down what happened and why.

"How the suspect or suspects gained entry, we don't know for sure. We don't have any physical evidence that would indicate that someone had forcibly entered their residence," Crumb said.

Neighbors of the victims are on edge.

"All of us are kind of making sure our doors are locked and making sure we don't let the wrong people into the house," said Walter Norman, who lives next door to the victims.

Norman said he's going to miss his conversations with Molden.

"She was very social, easy to get along with. I don't think she had an enemy in the world as far as I know," said Norman.

If you have information connected to the homicides, call the Newton County Sheriff's office.
