One dead in Gordon County single-vehicle accident

GORDON COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

A one-vehicle crash in Gordon County Wednesday morning left one man dead.

The crash occurred around 4:35 a.m. near exit 320 on I-75.

Curtis L. Keown, 63, was driving his 2005 Freightliner tractor trailer when, for reasons unknown, his vehicle left the roadway, traveled into the median, and struck a guardrail.

Police said Keown overcorrected, re-entered the southbound lanes of the interstate and overturned.

Keown was not wearing a safety belt and was ejected. He was killed in the crash.

Both Keown and the truck, owned by Blue Ribbon Courier, are from Evansville, Ind.
